“Lucy Lang is a proven leader and a fearless champion for criminal justice reform,” said Lynneice O. Washington, District Attorney for Jefferson County Bessemer Cutoff, Alabama and the first Black woman elected District Attorney in the state of Alabama. “Lucy knows that being district attorney is about so much more than prosecution – it’s about working with communities and everyone impacted by the system to uphold and strengthen the principles of justice, while combating the systemic inequities that have disproportionately impacted Black, Brown, and economically deprived people for far too long. I’m proud to stand with Lucy in support of her campaign for Manhattan District Attorney.”

“In a historic moment with millions of people crying out for change, New Yorkers deserve a District Attorney with the vision, experience and courage to turn bold ideas into action,” said Scott Colom, District Attorney for Mississippi’s 16th Circuit Court District. “I know Lucy is the candidate who can deliver on that vision and help transform the criminal justice system from one based on permanent punishment to one centered on the dignity and safety of every New Yorker. Lucy is smart, compassionate and a fierce champion for everyone impacted by the justice system - I’m proud to support her to be the next Manhattan District Attorney.”

“Decades of draconian policies have devastated millions of American families, especially in communities of color. That’s why it’s so important that the next Manhattan District Attorney is someone who has the experience necessary to transform the office on day one,” said Sarah George, State’s Attorney for Chittenden County, Vermont. “That candidate is Lucy Lang – someone who has dedicated her career to reforming the system from inside and out. Lucy has the experience both in criminal court and as a national criminal justice reform leader to bring real, systemic change to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, and I’m thrilled to support her candidacy.”

“Lucy Lang was working on criminal justice reform before the term became popular,” said Glenn Funk, District Attorney for Nashville, Tennessee. “She is a national leader on best practices which enhance public safety while eliminating over-prosecution and reducing the court system’s reliance on incarceration. I endorse Lucy Lang’s candidacy because she understands that a District Attorney who is fair can bring a community together- and that all persons who come in contact with the justice system deserve dignity and respect.”

“I’m honored to have the support of leading progressive prosecutors across the country who are on the front lines of the criminal justice reform movement,” said Manhattan District Attorney Candidate Lucy Lang. “Being a progressive prosecutor is about more than saying the right things - it’s about doing the hard work of putting our words to action to reduce incarceration and strengthen our communities day in and day out. These criminal justice reform leaders are breaking barriers every day, and I am incredibly grateful for their endorsements.”
